Microfinancing for the smallest businesses

The New Hampshire Community Loan Fund has been committed to the success of the state’s smallest businesses since 1996, when we launched MicroCredit-NH. We offer Micro loans from $1,000 to $10,000, along with training or technical assistance tailored to your business skills.

Having been denied for a bank loan doesn’t disqualify you here. The Community Loan Fund is more risk-tolerant than most other lenders, because we will carefully evaluate your business skills, then possibly recommend resources to help you be successful. If we are not a good loan match for you, or if we believe you’d be better served by a bank or some other lender, we will refer you.

Steps to apply for a Micro loan:
(Dial-up Internet users: If our pages load painfully slowly, please businessloans [at] communityloanfund [dot] org (subject: Please%20send%20me%20a%20small-business%20loan%20inquiry%20form) (email us) or call us at 856-0780 and we'll send you the appropriate forms and information).

1. Complete and send our online small-business loan inquiry.

2. If it appears from all of the above information that you might be a good match for a Micro loan, we will invite you to submit an application (with a non-refundable $50 fee) that includes credit scores, tax return, personal financial statement, etc. Otherwise, we will refer you to other resources.

3. In-depth phone interview with a member of our business lending team.

4. In-person visit (or site visit at your business).

5. Referral to training or technical assistance resource(s).

6. Closing, which includes an origination fee of 2% of the loan amount or $50, whichever is greater, plus any out-of-pocket expenses the Community Loan Fund has incurred. These costs can be wrapped into the overall loan amount.
