A little education and some advance planning can prevent tax surprises, improve cash flow, and postpone or eliminate taxes for self-employed people or owners of small businesses.
So the New Hampshire Community Loan Fund and its community partners are offering a series of tax planning workshops this fall. Workshops in Concord, Keene and Nashua are geared for all owners of small businesses, while the Schedule C workshops in Manchester and the North Country are primarily for self-employed persons.
Presenter Linda Snow, a certified public accountant with Snow Consulting & Tax in Concord, has offered sound advice to small businesses for more than 20 years. As a small-business owner, she understands the challenges of negotiating business finances, as well as overall operations and management responsibilities.
Each attendee will receive:
- A list of local CPAs and tax professionals who work with small businesses and self-employed people.
- A detailed workbook that references topics from the workshop and associated IRS forms.
Registration and prepayment is required for each workshop. A limited number of scholarships are available by contacting Mark Brown at the Community Loan Fund or calling 856-0717.
The workshop schedule:
Nashua: Small-business tax planning workshop, 11/16, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nashua Technology Park, 200 Innovative Way. $90. Register online. Call 227-0417 for information.
