Sally Hatch
After 25 years as a financial market data specialist in the for-profit world in Boston and NYC, I definitely knew it was time for a change. I wanted to find something to do that would be meaningful and would make a difference. My husband and I had moved to New Hampshire permanently in 2005 and I was not eager to commute to Boston every day.
I decided to look at nonprofits, Concord was the perfect place because of the wonderful work being done here. I had to match my skills to the organizations I was talking with, since I lacked nonprofit experience. Sales, territory and team management and customer relations were all part of my background. I worked for some well-known companies like Dow Jones and Reuters, as well as some high-tech startups. My clients were financial institutions, pension funds, and investment advisors – anyone who managed money.
The Director of Investor Relations is the perfect job for me. I work with our full range of investors – large national institutions, local banks and foundations, religious organizations and other nonprofits, as well as individual investors. I help investors make their excess capital available to loan to our borrowers. We also ensure that our investors are paid interest on their investments and that their loans to us are paid back in full at maturity or renewed for an additional term, if they wish.
I feel incredibly fortunate to have been hired by the Community Loan Fund in 2007. I work with a wonderfully smart and dedicated team and am able to put my experience to work to help others help our New Hampshire communities.
