2011 Annual Report: Resilience in uncertain times

The New Hampshire Community Loan Fund’s 2011 annual report is filled with stories of resilience – people, families, businesses and organizations working hard to seize opportunities, and succeeding.

When Blake’s All Natural Foods, a fourth-generation family business in Concord, needed the right financing partner, our Small-Business Loans team worked closely with them to create fianncing that met their needs and helped them continue the company’s 25- to 40-percent annual growth.

Determined saver Nicole Johnson put down nearly $10,000 on a reliable car using our Individual Development Accounts matched savings. Once homeless, she is now off all public assistance, a great example for her two kids, and has been able to take a promotion that required transportation.

By the time Carlos Roman Gonzalez and Sara Cloutier discovered our Cooperative Home Loans, they were discouraged and skeptical that anyone would help them buy a home. Just three months after they called us, they were in a brand-new manufactured home in resident-owned Rambling Woods Cooperative.
