Community Loan Fund receives the top honor in the field of opportunity finance

The New Hampshire Community Loan Fund has received the highest honor given in our field: the NEXT Award for Opportunity Finance.

We were honored in 2009 for providing fair, fixed-rate mortgage loans to help people in New Hampshire's resident-owned manufactured housing communities build value in their homes. The Opportunity Finance Network selected us from among the country's top community development financial institutions.

The NEXT Award affirmed that the work of the Community Loan Fund has the potential to help people and communities across the country.

Opportunity Finance Network President Mark Pinsky said that what sets the Community Loan Fund apart is its "breakthrough strategies that are especially important during the greatest financial market distress in 70 years. ... Their financing strategies have great potential to create transformational changes right now that benefit low-income and low-wealth people and places."

We always say the Community Loan Fund is successful when our borrowers are successful. But when we are successful it's also because of the people and organizations that partner with us and support us in so many ways. Our ability to bring opportunity to people and places that need it is fueled by the donors and lenders who believe in us and in our mission.

NEXT implies that the best is yet to come. We hope so. We're determined to meet that challenge strategically, creatively and tenaciously. And when we do, it will be because of your ongoing support.
